The Obama Administration has pressed the progressive agenda in every aspect of regulatory government authority – you are already aware of many outrages. The latest outrage is the EEOC’s sweeping new regulations redefining "disability" under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Government Sues Trucking Company for Taking Keys Away From Alcoholic Driver

The long standing corporate policy at Old Dominion Freight Line – a trucking company – is that anyone with an addition will not be allowed to drive, recovered or not. Employees with additions can be reassigned to a non-driving position but that is contingent upon the driver enrolling in a treatment program. One Old Dominion driver said he couldn’t afford treatment so he enrolled in AA – the company fired him.
Under the new regulations, the EEOC is suing Old Dominion demanding that the company:
· Reinstate this driver and others.
· Allow them to continue driving.
· Provide them with back pay.
· Pay both compensatory and punitive damages.
· Compensate them for lost benefits.
· And, permanently abandon the company’s alcohol-related policy.
Safety is clearly not an issue for the government bureaucracy. Will the government block lawsuits against a company whose addicted drivers cause death and injury?
Sex offenders are very clearly afflicted individuals, they are anything but normal. Will we soon find that they are “disabled”? Will we have to return sex offenders back to their jobs at schools, churches and day care?
If you want to operate dangerous machinery, don’t be a substance abuser. How simple and righteous, right? Where is our common sense? Where is personal responsibility?
Progressives cannot govern and worse, their policies are wrongheaded, counterproductive and dangerous.
