The dumbest legislation ever passed in America was prohibition. With our complete refusal to learn from history, we started the war on drugs and got dumber.
Mexican Drug Gang Deploys 'Mad Max' Armored Trucks Against Rivals
USA Today, Jun 07, 2011
The nation began restricting drug use and distribution in 1914 with the Harrison Narcotics Tax Act – a good idea. But President Richard Nixon began real prohibition and our “war on drugs” in 1971. This completely failed policy now costs us over $40 billion a year while saving no one from addiction, treating no one who is addicted, filling our jails with kids who’d rather be gangsters than high school students and destroying entire nations around the world including neighboring Mexico – don’t forget Columbia and Afghanistan. Mexico is on the verge of becoming a failed state and their problems now threaten to spread to the entirety of Central America.
The pictured monster truck is the latest weapon deployed in the Mexican drug gangster war that plays out on the streets of the nation and that the Mexican government is powerless to stop. What’s next?
· American troops on Mexican streets?
· Drug gangster wars on American streets?
· Massive refugee camps full of innocent Mexicans fleeing the violence? Remember the Cuban camps?
What are we thinking? Could we be any more delusional or self destructive? This is our fault folks; we vote for the morons who tell us that this is being “tough on crime”. Excuse me; we’re the morons.
