Photos from Stolen Laptop Lead to Arrest of Suspect

A guy has his laptop stolen from his home but he had installed one of the anti-theft/nanny-cam software apps. And the software worked – his laptop began sending him pictures of the guy who had the laptop, complete with GPS coordinates.
He took the info to the Oakland police but they wouldn’t help – you get the impression that the cops just didn’t get it at first. So our hero tweeted the story to his friends and they retweeted it until it got picked up by social media and the press and went viral. That got the cops to come calling. Shortly thereafter, they arrested the thief and the guy got his laptop back.
Apparently there are apps like this for any device with a wireless internet capability.
Note: The article says the software he used was called Hidden but when I went looking on the net, I ran into some suspicious sites. I’d do more research before I downloaded anything.
